This review is from a visit in January of 2024. A true taste of Guadalajara and possibly the best Mexican food in Lubbock (I've been to Guadalajara and this restaurant would survive there!). Enchiladas, Campechana, Menudo, Argentinian Milanesa, even Salvadorian food like Siete Mares! Made with large portions, fair prices, and massive drinks. Good service and impeccably delicious. Cannot recommend more highly for a legit hole-in-the-wall place in Lubbock. This is one of the best held and longest running secrets in Lubbock, period! Those enchiladas are just SO SO good.

Came here after finding the two other places we wanted to try were closed on Sundays. Bringing a child to TT and wanted a great dinner. Boy we sure got it! Our table ordered carne asada tacos, Al pastor tacos, carne en su jugo, Milanese and a paradilla. All the food was thoroughly enjoyed as were the chips and salsa and the margaritas. I ordered the Carne en su Jugo which is steak, bacon, beans, chili verde sauce and avocado... it was absolutely delicious!! The rice and charro beans are so very good. It was nice that this is a Mexican restaurant and not a Tex-Mex restaurant... we will definitely be back

OVERALL Taqueria Jalisco is probably the best Mexican food in Lubbock, TX. RATING BREAKDOWN Food: 4 | Service: 4 | Ambiance: 4 | Price: 4 PARKING Ample, free private lot. LOCATION/AMBIANCE The main entrance is around the back. I noticed when we walked it that it could have been tidier. There was trash on the floor. There were also beautiful mural paintings & Mexican tiles adorning the walls. THE GRUB We were offered complimentary chips & salsa. The salsa certainly had a kick, but it was no where near my favorite. The chips were a forgettable. I really enjoyed my #4, "plato Mexicano" $13.29. It and my significant other's dish came out soon after we ordered. Like within a couple of minutes it seemed. My meal was a cheese enchilada, a fajita taco, and beans and rice with a salad. It was absolutely delicious! My house margarita was nothing to write home about, just okay. LITTLE YELPER'S CLUBI failed to capture a photo of the kid's menu, but this is a family-friendly restaurant with many children all around is on 6/24/2023. SERVICE Service was fast and friendly. MY FAVORITE PART... My enchilada & fajita taco! NOT SO FAVORITE PART... It all happened so fast from us being greeted, to being seated, to getting our food, to paying. I barely had time to look at the beautiful murals. Not a usual complaint of mine, but my date was someone I actually enjoyed. Lol. TIPS + It's authentic Jalisco-style MEXICAN cuisine, not Tex-Mex! + Breakfast is served daily until 11AM.

On the way in from the airport my Lyft driver told me about this place. I told him I love athletic Mexican food and I spent a lot of time in Mexico. I think I know what I'm talking about since I've been in all parts of Mexico. Iv had street food too nice restaurants. He told me to try this place. First of all the clientele tell me a lot. This is a real Mexican restaurant. The food is great. I had the small Tacos. With beans. This is not a fancy place, but then I wouldn't want it to be. The Ambiance is perfect. If you want a trip to Mexico in Lubbock Tx, this is the place. Enjoy
